InterFM FIVE STARS Monday #031 (091102)

Thursday, November 05, 2009

The show started off with a very random mail that has no proper closure and content, causing the 2 girls to be curious about what the listener wanted to tell them, lol.

Morning Musume - Kimagure Princess

The appearance of RisaEri's FIVE STARS Monday's very first guest, Ogawa Mana! A brief introduction of Mana. She is a 16-year-old in Canary Club and is a left-hander. Her blood type is AB and her favourite food is sour plums. She took ballet lessons when she was younger. Does that sound familiar, Eri fans? Eri and Mana share a lot in common.

Kame : We share a lot in common.
Gaki : (To Mana) Unfortunately right?

The most enjoyable moment for Mana is when she is singing. Gaki-san told Eri this is the type of answer that should be given on shows when asked instead of replying with a "When I'm sleeping." Eri explained that even if she responses with such an answer, no one will believe her. Being the usual random her, Eri threw in a new answer, "When I'm composing lyrics." Gaki-san's reaction? "You don't even write lyrics! Our lyrics are written by Tsunku-san."

When Mana was in elementary school, she is a big fan of Morning Musume, just like Eri. Eri kept agreeing with every word Mana said which caused Gaki-san to feel uncomfortable about that behaviour of Eri. It was not done on purpose though. Eri truly understands how the feeling is like because she has been through it. Being in front of the 2 girls from the band she admires, Mana naturally felt nervous. Eri's way of asking her junior to relax...

Kame : It's okay. First, take off your slippers.
Gaki : Why on earth must she take off her slippers!?

The start of the interview! Eri's first question for Mana is...? "You like sour plums of what salt percentage?" Despite being in the midst of the recording, Eri looked out of the glass and asked her manager if it was okay to ask such a question, lol. Mana eats 7% salt content sour plums. Meanwhile, for our hardcore sour plum lover, honey sour plums aren't her "cup of sour plums," she likes sour plums with high percentage of sour content. She often eats the 13% kind.

Mana doesn't like studying. Gaki-san's response to that, "Ah, that's unexpected. Wow, that makes it another similarity between you and Kame." Eri later asked Mana a leading question, "Don't you hate history and geography?" (Eri isn't known for loving them...)

Coincidentally, in Canary Club, Mana is the middle-manager. Eri too, in Morning Musume has the role of a middle-manager. Eri claimed that it's not an easy job, lol.

Whenever Mana gets time off, she stays at home to watch DVDs or to listen to music. Clearly, she is a homebody just like our home-turtle. Eri started encouraging Mana to continue to be a homebody and used Gaki-san as an example for outdoor people. Despite having a tiring concert the day before, Gaki-san will still somehow have the energy to go to Disneyland the next day.

Due to the huge age gap between the members in Canary Club, there isn't much stuff that all of them are interested in but for Morning Musume, once someone gets addicted to something, they will all get hooked on it too.

Since young, Mana collects Shokugan (Toys that comes together with sweets). Apparently Eri did her homework and researched on it a little to know what a Shokugan is. Though so, Eri asked a direct question, "What's so fun about collecting them?" She quickly realised the tone she spoke in was indeed a little too direct and rephrased it immediately. For Mana, she enjoys the feeling when she looks at her collection. She now has more than a thousand of those mini toys at home. So many that she has lost count of it. As the toys are packed in random, there are times whereby the consumer will get back the same toy. Instead of viewing it as a minus, Mana thinks it as a plus and wonders how many she can collect of that same design. The most fun moment of collecting such toys is when Mana gets the mysterious design of the series.

Another hobby of Mana is collecting of calculators. The recent designs of calculators are becoming really trendy and attracts Mana's attention. Of course Mana doesn't have a thousand calculators at home but she has around 30 to 40 sets of it. Both the hosts agreed that that's already a lot since just 1 set will already be enough. The next moment after Gaki-san complimented Mana for being cute, Eri said "She's like me." (It wasn't done on intention, but the timing happened to be just nice)

Eri doesn't collect calculators but she loves cash registers. She once went to the store that sells cash registers alone when she was in elementary school. Gaki-san suggested Eri to start collecting cash registers xD (This got to be one of the wittiest thing Gaki-san has ever said) When Mana said she has a cash register at home, Eri started screaming for her to give it to Eri. She didn't buy it for any particular reason but she still uses it from time to time.

With that, Mana gave 5 stars to Shokugan!

Gaki-san suggested for Eri to go to Mana's house one day and ask "Can you bring your cash register out for me to see?" Eri agreed, lol.
