"Pucchigumi" magazine held a survey and the anime Eri is involved in, "Jewel Pet" was ranked first in the Pucchigumi Ranking. The survey was about people's favourite Anime show. Congratulations to Jewel Pet for grabbing the number 1 spot!

Eri sent flowers to voice actress of Jewel Pet's Minami character, AKINA to congratulate her. Pretty surprising considering that our little turtle is....well, just like a little turle ^^; Good to see that she is becoming pretty good friends with AKINA!

Ruby : Reversed anger?!
Teacher : How do you read this word? (The word was "orange")
Rinko : O-ra-n-ge (Read it in the Japanese way)
When Rinko came across a question that went "...like a bridge," she assumed that it was saying that the author likes bridges, lols.
Lots of screaming in this episode and was an extremely funny one with the Akira vs Rinko English battle. Remember, Eri's theme colour is o-ra-n-ge! xD

Last week's Jewel Pet was really entertaining with the Rinko vs Akira battle. Eri sounded so adorable even when she was annoyed and when she was sneering at Akira Love how Eri screamed "Chibiko!!" (kid) at Akira throughout the whole episode while being insulted by him. Unfortunately for Rinko, even though she does not want to see Akira again, Akira is her new neighbour ^^;

Eri was in an interview with Web Telvision which had asked her about her first try in voice acting for the anime, Jewel Pet. Even though the anime has been running for more than a month by now, Eri had said "I'm still very nervous during recordings, even though I have 7 years of experience as an entertainer." Also, Eri is always the "my pace" type in Morning Musume but for the sake of matching the pace of the anime with her voice now, she has been marking down the timings on her script. With that, she declared that she has gradutaed from the "My pace" Kamei Eri.
Skipping all the Jewel Pet details since you'll get them if you watch the anime. According to Eri, Saitou Ayaka-san (The lady voicing Ruby) and her are of the same age so its easy for Eri to consult her. Also, AKINA-chan, who is also voice acting for the first time, and Eri will get fired up before the recordings. Look like AKINA and Eri are really on good terms. Eri had addressed her as AKINA-chan in the interview.

Haven't been doing write-ups for Jewel Pet and I'm lagging behind by 4 episodes. Catching up for now ~
After Rinko caught a glance from Arisugawa when Rinko and Minako were drooling over the Kamaboko flyer she made this "Hm?" sound which was absolutely adorable.
Rinko and Arisugawa were in charge of the daily duties that day so as they were carrying out their duties together, Rinko tried to break the awkward atmosphere by inviting Arisugawa for Kamaboko after school. But after a "Huh? Kamaboko?" from Arisugawa, Rinko said "Oops, people like you won't go for such things" as Arisugawa is from a rich family. After that comment from Rinko Arisugawa had a upset expression on her face so Rinko was worried that she had just said something wrong.
Minami and Rinko discussed about Arisugawa while having their meal of Kamaboko. They found out Arisugawa has the blue jewel so Rinko made her way to Arisugawa's house. Again, Eri sounded so damn cute when introducing herself to Arisugawa's servent.
After high tea with Rinko, Arisugawa invited Rinko for another session of high tea next time. Just as Rinko was about to say that she wants to be friends with Arisugawa, Ruby and Garnet were brought in by 2 servents for invading Arisugawa's room and trying to take the blue jewel (A jewel pet jewel). That caused Arisugawa to think that Rinko was just like any other of her "friends" who tried to get advantage from Arisugawa. Rinko tried to explain herself but Arisugawa refused to listen. With that, Rinko, Ruby and Garnet were chased out of the house. Seriously, Eri sounded so damn cuteeeee when pleading Arisugawa to listen to her.
After reading up on the blue jewel, they found out that the Jewel Pet is Sapphy, the Jewel Pet of friendship.
When Rinko got to school, the teacher announced that Arisugawa will be leaving for UK. Lol'd at the ikemen's reaction when Rinko suddenly appeared in front of his binoculars. They sped off to look for Arisugawa. Rinko promises herself to be able to make friends with Arisugawa before she leaves for UK.
They came to a dead end thanks to the ikemen but Ruby bombed open the wall ^^; However luck wasn't on their side and there was a road block. The ikemen told them to leave it to him but he totally got owned by the police. He called out and asked the rest to run off to the airport first but even before he had told them to do so, they were already kilometres away from him on their way to the airport.
They saw Arisugawa and quickly "Open Jewel Heart"'d before running after her. They successfully caught up with her and Rinko explained herself for what happened the day before with a proper apology. She too received an apology from Arisugawa for accusing her.
Rinko really wanted to be friends with Arisugawa however since this friendship was formed thanks to magic, she doesn't know if it can be considered as a friendship. As the Jewel Pet of friendship, Sapphy casted a spell.
But it didn't turn out as what we expect. It ended up with a weird guy running towarda Arisugawa calling her his best friend and knocking Rinko out of his way. When asked, Sapphy admited she didn't cast the spell on Rinko, but on that weird guy.
Seeing how happy Arisugawa was to be friend with that guy instead of Rinko, tears filled her eyes. However Arisugawa told her, "Because we're already friends so there's no need for those magic".
Self-explanatory. They watched her fly off in the plane.
The next day when going to school together, Minami and Rinko were wondering how Arisugawa is doing in UK. Whether she's using "Hello!" (In English) as a greeting. The moment that said that, they heard "Hello!" from a familar voice. That's right, Arisugawa is back ~
Another nice episode of Jewel Pet. Eri sounded so sweet especially when she asked Arisugawa if she'll like to join them for Kamaboko.

AKINA has updated her blog about a recent recording of Jewel Pet.
According to her, it takes 3 hours to record an episode of Jewel Pet, which is only 30minutes. It may look easy, but it requires a lot of skills to be a voice actress. In the studio, 20 to 25 people will be sharing 2 monitors so in order to not be a hindrance, each and everyone of them must know when to move nearer to the mic and think for one another. They have to make sure they don't make any necessary noise like footsteps, rustling of papers or knocking into one another. She rounded up saying that she had a non-stop laughing session with Eri and Miyano-san that day after not seeing Eri for sometime.

I'm never good at translating texts and articles, so I'll just translate the whole article in my own words.
When Eri got to hear the news of her getting a voice actress role, at that very moment, she was in the bath, lol. Her mother and sister had congratulated Eri for the new assignment as well as helped her out. As Eri practises at home, her younger sister will play the roles of other characters while Eri's mother will teach her the kanjis in the script that she don't know how to read. Eri's aware that she usually isn't the serious type but this time round she's really trying her best to practise her voice acting skills.
Being together with the rest of the members for so long, Eri had slowly accustomed to the "Workplace = Other MM members will be around" thinking. Now that she has to be alone during her voice acting sessions, it is a new and fresh experience for her. At first she was really worried that she'll be a bother to other during the voice acting session but the staffs and other voice actresses/actors had kindly helped her and taught her the things she don't know.
During concerts, Eri can express herself through her dance, her singing as well as her facial expressions. However, in voice acting, she can only use her voice to express herself which is totally different from her usual job. There are times whereby she's glad that she's able to make use of her voice to express herself and also times whereby she felt depressed because she wasn't able to do it well. From this voice acting job, she got to a chance to experience more things.
Kougyoku Rinko is an energetic little girl with lots of different expressions in the anime. Rinko's days are filled with tears and laughters just like Eri's. When she sees her friends in trouble, Rinko wants to help but she herself is not able to overcome her own obstacles in order to move on to help her friends. But with the help of Rinko's bunny Jewel Pet, Ruby, Rinko is able to gather up her courage to face the problems.
During the first episode of Jewel Pet, Eri was in the mid of MM's concert tour, Platinum 9 DISCO so she was not able to catch the first episode on TV itself and she felt that it was a pity but she had received nice comments from fans who had told her they've watched it during the concerts.
Since both Tanaka Reina and Kusumi Koharu had experiences with voice acting, Eri had sought advice from these 2 members. Reina's advice to Eri is to not be nervous during the recording and everything will turn out well. She had also taught Eri some ways to practice her voice acting skills. Eri had also watched Kirarin Revolution's DVDs to get some pointers and found out that there's a different side of Koharu's voice and amazed Eri as Koharu is 4 years younger then her but she can do such a good job in voice acting. That motivated Eri to do her best for this voice acting opportunity as Jewel Pet's main character, Kougyoku Rinko.
Eri's thoughts on Shouganai Yume Oibito. Even though its a up-beat song, its actually a song of heartbreaks and she personally likes the melody of the song. MM is singing as a girl who don't know whether to continue to be together with her boyfriend who is a dreamchaser. There's a lot of room for imagination in this song. This will mark Eri's 19th Single in Morning Musume ever since her debut single, Shabondama which was released in 2003 and also, it'll be Eri's 7th year in Morning Musume soon so she thinks that she should start being more responsible.

Garnet (Minami's Jewel Pet) refused to help Minami for her love confession for her senior and ran away from Ruby, Rinko and Minami. When Minami had spotted Garnet and chased after her (She was on a tree), Garnetchallenged Rinko to climb up the tree for her and despite Minami's calls for her to get down, Rinko continued climbing. Rinko had never seen Minami crying once since it was always her that was getting bullied and wailing and Minami would stand up for her so she wanted to do her part for Minami too. Rinko was determined to get hold of Garnet but Minami reminded her that she has acrophobia, causing her to faint right away and off the tree which Ruby had rushed in in time to save her.
Minami's room, which she had never allowed anyone in.
I was checking 2ch while watching the anime and lol'd at 2ch wotas going "Here comes Rika-chan's room!" and even some saying that its Sayu's room.
Next week looks interesting. The preview had Eri saying "Arisugawa-san do you want to join me for some Kamaboko?" in a really cute voice.

First episode of Jewel Pet was aired earlier today on TV Tokyo.

Here's just a brief summary of the anime.
The appearance of Kougyoku Rinko!
She totally reminded me of Sayu even though Eri was the one dubbing. Rinko was daydreaming about her prince on his white horse.
A call of her name broke Rinko's trail of thoughts, before she knew it she was already chosen for the speech.
Rinko yoroshiku!
Rinko reminds me a lot of the shy side of Eri. Knowing that she isn't really good with facing a bunch of audiences, she was worrying as Minami tried to encourage her. Rinko behaving exactly like Eri, when they don't want to do certain things, they run away from it. Rinko wanted to quit, but of course, Minami didn't allow her to.
Then here comes a bunch of bitchy girls. Can't be bothered to remember all the names for now, but well, except for the one with blond hair, the rest of them are pretty bitchy. The blond hair girl congratulated Rinko for being chosen and wished her best of luck.
Rinko seriously don't want to be the representative. So much that she really wanted some one to take over her position.
Its not that she don't want to actually, its just that she'll turn really nervous when she's in front of lots of people. Minami continued to encourage her and told her to bring out all her courage on that day.
Shooting stars ~
Rinko was waiting for another shoot star so that she can make a wish.
Just as she was saying that, Ruby's ruby came flying in her way. She thought it was a shooting star and wished for courage for the congratulatory address speech.
There goes the "shooting star" flying towards her.
And it landed in her glass of water.
Shocked, she called Minami.
Heh, Minami = Gaki-san? :D
Minami thought of selling it off. If it was a real thing it'll fetch them quite an amount. Rinko refused, as expected.
2 Robbers came running in their way from a jewelery shop. Minami attacked one of them but the other one got hold of Rinko. The way Eri said "Let go!" was so cute.
An ikemen saved Rinko.
Eri's "Ah, hai, daijoubu desu" sounded like the 2003 Eri.
The ruby dropped out of her pocket as she was struggling to stand on her feet.
The ikemen knew about the red ruby and explained the truth behind it to Rinko.
Acting cool, but no reaction from the girls, lol.
As they read the Jewel Pet book, they found out that Ruby has the Magic of Courage just what Rinko needed for her speech.
They found a place to use the chant or spell whatever they call it, to summon Ruby.
So here comes Ruby, Rinko's Jewel Pet!
Ruby is so adorableeeeeeeeeeeee ♥
Blah blah, all the parts on the introduction of Rinko & Ruby, helping out one another.
Ruby is so daaaaaaaamn cuteeeeeeeeeeeee!

But apparently it wasn't so.
Even more bad omens.
Before Rinko's turn.

Minami quickly covered up for Rinko and wished her luck for her speech.
On the stage, still feeling nervous.
She caught the wink from Ruby and gathered up all her courage to address the audience. Even though it was a white rabbit that came for her instead of the prince on white house she has been dreaming about since young, she's convinced that Ruby may just be able to help her in her life.
So that's all for the first episode of Jewel Pet.
