Reina was speaking with a nasal voice when she recorded this week's show. She caught a cold. Anyway, since its the last day of 2009, Reina looked back at 2009. This year had passed very quickly for her, with her usual routine of working, playing and sleeping. When she first entered Morning Musume, she wanted time to pass faster but now, she doesn't even have to wish for it to pass quickly and it'll fly past her. This year, Reina celebrated her 20th birthday. She wanted it to be a special celebration but as usual, she spent it with her family. She initially didn't want to turn 20 but after turning 20, she realised that there's not much difference from being in her teens.

She wanted to review on 2009 but its difficult to recall everything so she talked about what she has been doing lately. She has been playing street fighter and from her description, it seems like she has been using Zangief to fight. Reina finds Zangief a great character and can win over pro-players of street fighter without even knowing the buttons for special moves with Zangief.

For "Kimagure Princess"'s music video taping, Reina was the last member to get her shots taken. For this single's recording, they were told to move around even if its not their line, showing the sexiness of a girl. As she was wondering about what moves to make for her shots, she watched other members and saw some of the members really moving their hips. Kind of like "Can that shot actually be used!?" standard of sexiness. For Reina, she felt that if her shots were all just sexiness and nothing else, it'd be boring so she added in a little bit of the Reina flavour that we see in concerts.

Reina once said that she'll like act in a drama. Although she has yet to accomplish that aim, she now has an anime that was done based on Tanaka Reina and Reina herself is currently voice acting for the main character (Kaitou Reinya) in the anime. If Reina can participate in other shows, she will like to play the baddie of power rangers. She finds the make-up and costume of the baddie cute and feels that she'll be able to act like a baddie even though she has no experience in acting. Most girls will normally choose pink ranger when asked who their favourite ranger is. However, Reina's prefers red ranger to other rangers.

Continuing with the 2009 review, Reina certainly got into spam this year ever since she ate the onigiri filled with spam during the Hawaii FC Tour. She wasn't that crazy about it at first but after she returned to Tokyo and bought the canned spams, she fell in love with it and is still in love with it. She is hunting for spam now because they aren't available in common supermarkets. She also had a craze over avocados and cooking this year. She only tried cooking 3-4 times and all of them were just spaghetti. It wasn't exactly because of her interest. She has zero interest in cooking but wanted to do it because she was turning 20. Reina sounds really proud and adorable when she talked about not "crying" when cutting onions, lol. She hopes to find a dish she is good at making in near future. That's the 2009 round-up for her private life.

Now for her job. Koharu's graduation is the biggest change for Morning Musume in 2009 in Reina's opinion. It feels strange without her, as though Morning Musume is "imbalance." Not that they don't get along with one another, just that some members works better with certain others. They can't revert the graduation so they can only work hard together now. She quickly ended her talk when she realised she about to go into a serious talk.

Kaitou Reinya, an anime featuring Reina, will begin airing on January 8, 2010. Reina did some promotions as well as press conference not long ago for the anime. It has been some time since she was sent on a press conference without the rest so she didn't know what to say at first. She didn't manage to deliver the details of the anime out well, but Reina decided to do it once again on this week's radio show. Kaito Reinya is a character based on Tanaka Reina. In the afternoon, Reinya works as a convenience store shop assistant. Reina didn't check with the staffs why Reinya is a shop assistant but she made a good guess reasoning that since she often says she wants to be a shop assistant, the staffs might had added in that detail into the anime too after hearing about it. At night, Reinya will become a phantom thief.

The highlights of the anime is the use of Hakata dialect and that it airs in Fukuoka. Reinya's lines are all in Hakata dialect but there are some mistakes in the usage of Hakata dialect in some parts of the script. Reina was supposed to correct it herself so she did it at home. As she thought about what would be the correct line, she got confused between standard Japanese and Hakata dialect. She consulted her mother since her mother isn't usually surrounded by people who uses standard Japanese. Both of them got confused and just edited the script without much confidence in the accuracy of their Hakata dialect. She is worried about viewers finding the lines unnatural.

One episode of Kaitou Reinya is 3 minutes long. As Reina continued talking about the anime, she wanted to say "announcement" (Yokokujou) but she confused herself and said "Juniors having control over seniors" (Gekokujou). One syllabus difference, but two completely different meanings ^^;

The toughest rehearsal Reina had was the rehearsals for Morning Musume Concert Tour 2005 Natsuki Baribari Kyoushitsu Koharu-chan Irasshai. The timings of the rehearsals were scheduled to fit Koharu's school time-table. The rehearsals were so tiring that Reina wouldn't have the energy to talk during meals but when they successfully completed the concert tour, they were all pleased with the accomplishment. With regards to that pain of the rehearsal, quoting from Reina, "If one can't overcome an obstacle, one won't be able do something great." At that time, Reina would talk to her mother to relieve her stress. Also, Reina watched her favourite TV shows that she recorded and laughed big time to de-stress.

In the past, the members often consult people (No idea who) about what sort of nail art they should use and stuff. Once, when Aichan said she wanted to paint her nails black, someone discouraged her from doing that. Reina thought it was pretty troublesome for those members back then when they even have consult others before putting on a new design. For Reina's nails, she has been doing themselves since back then without consulting anyone or going to any manicurist. Her current nail paint is black and no one complains about it. Recently, Reina is into putting on rhinestones. The troublesome point of rhinestone is when Reina washes her hair, it comes off. At some point of time back then, Reina stopped using them because it was really troublesome. Her reason for doing up her nails nicely is that whenever she looks at her cute nails, it makes her happy.

On the day of the recording of this week's show, Reina slept for twelve hours. She woke up twice though, to get herself a drink. She hasn't been having such pleasant sleeps lately with all her sudden waking up in the middle of the night. It has been some time since she last had such a long sleep. After she woke up, she wanted to sleep a little more but she had work so she didn't get a choice. If she didn't have work that day, she would probably go back to sleep.

She had a dream. According to Reina, her dad has two siblings. Reina dreamed of her dad's youngest brother who has two children and is in his thirties. Her uncle asked her out to play but she refused and after she asked why the invitation, her uncle said that they were going to hold a celebration for Junjun's birthday. She knew that her uncle has never met Junjun needless to say to even know her and that it wasn't Junjun's birthday that month. Well, its all a dream. A dream that Reina doesn't understand why on earth were both her relative and fellow Morning Musume member in the same dream.

There are laces on Reina's princess double-bed. The laces are being a hindrance and Reina thought of removing them. Unfortunately, the laces weren't detachable. It wasn't a good idea either because if she removed them, her bed would look like just any other bed.

Reina received a set of speakers not long ago which she is currently using when she listens to music as she sleeps. She usually falls asleep even before the first track finishes playing. Even though so, she still prefers to sleep with music that overlaps the sound that fridges and televisions make every now and then. Reina created a new four word idiom called "Kikaigenshou" (機械現象) Instead of the "Mysterious phenomenon" which is "Kikaigenshou," (奇怪現象) Reina called the weird noises "Machine phenomenon" which is also called "Kikaigenshou." (機械現象).

With that, Reina gave five stars to sleeps, which is important to man.

Reina went to Matsukiyo (Its a Japanese pharmacy) the day before the recording. She was looking around in the cosmetic corner when this lady from the pharmacy asked her if she would like to have her skin checked. When Reina was younger, she considered her skin a charm point since she was often praised for her good skin. However, nowadays, whenever she stays up late, the next day her skin's condition won't be as good as usual. Not that it dries up or anything, but when she puts on her make-up, the make-up kind of loosens. Since she can't prevent it from happening, Reina has decided to check her work the next day before staying up late. Coming back to the skin check, her sebaceous glands were excellent, skin moisture was good, her skin's elasticity was excellent but her blood circulation was bad. The nice lady taught Reina a way of massaging her skin to improve the blood circulation.

For Reina's 20th birthday, Linlin got her a leopard-design big-wallet-like item which Reina has never used such an item before and an one-piece, which also has leopard designs. Junjun gave her a pair of earmuffs that's from Reina's favourite brand. Because Reina once told Aika she wants to get earrings, Aika bought lots of earrings for Reina which Reina has been using them for their concerts.

Although Reina was worried about turning 20 at first, after she became 20, it was just like "I turned 20." As Reina had only turned 20 recently, whenever she is asked how old she is, she'll have the urge to say "1..." but quickly corrects herself and reply with a "I'm 20 years old." To Reina, an adult is one who is able to hold back his/her anger. FYI, months ago, Reina's definition of an adult is one who can ride a train alone, one who can ride a plane alone and one who can type on the computer keyboard.

Reina is into Korean artistes recently. Since she can't understand the language, she concluded that she likes the music and the rhythm. The Korea songs that Reina likes are G-Dragon's Heart breaker, G-Dragon's This love, Big Bang's Lies and Super Junior's Sorry Sorry. Not only is she watching the music videos, Reina has been watching the song performances by the Korean artistes too. Before Reina got into this whole Korean music craze, she didn't have anyone that she admires. When Reina entered Morning Musume, she admired Goto Maki as well as Ishikawa Rika for her dances. She aimed to be like them but after the seniors graduated, she no longer had an aim and was satisfied with whatever level she was already at. After watching Big Bang's performance, she was inspired to add even more coolness to her performances and hence, performing on stage nowadays had became even more enjoyable than it already was since she has an aim. With that, Reina gave five stars to Korean artistes.

As Koharu is Reina's first junior to graduate before her, it feels a little strange. The day before Koharu's graduation was announced to the rest of the members, they were told that there would be a meeting the next day. Like other members, Reina knew it has got to be a graduation announcement. Her prediction was either Sayu or Gaki-san. Never did she expect Koharu to be the one. Reina's reasons for the two members she guessed were that Sayu is currently breaking into the variety world and Gaki-san is going to work alone. When she was told its Koharu who is going to graduate, Reina was surprised. Reina is sure that Koharu will be able do well alone after her graduation and hopes that Koharu will try her best.

Reina once gave her father one of those fancy cardboards with her message to him and her photos pasted on it. It was kind of like a letter but she didn't want to write it on a paper since its not and durable as a cardboard. Reina really loves her family. Even if she doesn't have the time, she will still try to squeeze out some time to make her family members a birthday present.

Although Reina's blood type is O, she is often mistaken for a B blood type. Sometimes A blood type too. The reason for people mistaking her for having A blood type is because of her fancy fingernails. The reason for her being mistaken as having B blood type is her untidiness. She leaves her stuff all over the place. FYI, in this episode of FM Fuji GAKI-KAME, both the girls agreed that Reina carries the characteristics of a B bloody type.

For the recording of Ashite Ashite Ato Ippun, Reina tried to sing like Kudou Shizuka. She liks how Shizuka has a cute voice and sings with force at times. When Reina got to know of Ashite Ashite Ato Ippun, the first person that came into her mind was Kudou Shizuka so with the image of Shizuka in her mind, she sang the song during the recording.

Reina found out what her hobby is not long ago and that is the appreciation of music. She has been crazy over music recently and keeps listening to songs even when she is doing her make-up, travelling, stretching, eating and brushing her teeth. With the earphones in her ears, its only normal for her to not be able to listen clearly to what the people around her are talking about. She finally figured out how her music player works and has started putting in promotion videos of her favourite singers. She likes G-Dragon from Big Bang. She likes how he knows how he should carry himself and is learning from him. Watching him gets Reina thinking about her own performances. Even though Reina doesn't understand Korean, she likes the melody of the songs. She noticed that Big Bang's music videos have a storyline to each of them. Talking about music videos, last week on FIVE STARS Wednesday, Reina talked about Big Bang's Haru Haru. Continuing with last week's talk, Reina said that she cries every time she watches the music video of that song. With that, Reina gave five stars to G-Dragon and Big Bang. Yes, she gave it to Big Bang and G-Dragon instead of music even though she started off the corner talking about appreciating music, lol.

Recently, Reina went to the cinema to watch Tenshi no Koe and her thoughts about the movie is that Sasaki Nozomi's character, Rie Ozawa was really cute. She personally thinks that the daring personality of Rie, who doesn't hesitate to express herself, is wonderful. Reina then talked about human can be sad this moment and all happy and cheerful the next moment. Reina is the type who shows her feelings on her face like when she's not in a good mood, her face shows it or when she's feeling great, she tends to grin a lot.

Reina has been using something like this for her face since some years ago. She got herself a different one not long ago but it has the same function. Reina uses it to prevent her face from becoming chubbier.

Reina is into Big Bang nowadays. She has been watching their promotion videos and the one that caught her attention is Haru Haru. Reina explained the story behind the promotion video in a very detailed manner, putting herself in the female role and substituting A-kun and B-kun as the two male characters' names. Basically, Reina was A-kun's girlfriend and they even have a matching ring but one day, Reina fooled around with B-kun and A-kun caught her doing that. Later on, Reina somehow ended up in the hospital with some sort of illness. A friend then informed A-kun about the matter and A-kun, who was in the depression-like condition, woke up from it and rushed to the hospital immediately. When A-kun reached the hospital, B-kun handed him a ring and told him he was lying. The person Reina really loved was A-kun. Reina died in the end and the promotion video ends up A-kun crying terribly. After her detailed description of the promotion video, moved by the whole story, Reina cried on the radio show. It's the first time ever in these 112 episodes of FIVE STARS Wednesday ~

Reina went to a restaurant which is a little like a haunted house. There are zombies there and the lightings are dark colours. Right at the entrance, there'll be a ghost. At first, it was a little scary for Reina but after she got used to it, it became pretty fun. The food there is delicious too. By coincidence, when Reina was there, the restaurant was having a 50% discount so it was really cheap. Also, the restaurant provides fabulous service. Before you enter the restaurant, the waiter/waitress will ask you when your birthday is and on the day Reina dined in the restaurant, it was a few days before her birthday. As Reina was having her meal, a zombie came up to her with a cake and they even took a photograph together. The photograph was given to her as a present together with a birthday card. Reina had fun in the restaurant and is satisfied with its servicesShe doesn't recommend people with weak heart or people who are looking for a place to do some serious talk to dine there though. With that, Reina gave five stars to the "zombie restaurant." The restaurant she was talking about is probably this.

This week's FIVE STARS Wednesday is actually the #111 episode, on November 11, which is also Reina's 20th birthday! Reina joined Morning Musume when she was 13 so she had spent most of her teens as a member of Morning Musume. As an idol, obviously there are certain things that they are not allowed to do but looking on the bright side, she had enjoyed herself even though the fun was a little different from normal female teenagers'. The 13 years old Reina back then expected the 20 year old her to be a very mature lady...in fact, she thought after turning 20 years old she would probably be like an old lady. However, the current 20 years old Reina doesn't feel as though she has changed. Reina wants to continue taking up new challenges and enjoy herself to the fullest as she moves on.

Although Reina may appear to be very fashionable, the clothes she wears at home isn't as trendy as what she usually wears. Not that it's those dirty looking shirt or anything, just that the colours of her tops and bottoms don't match.

Reina talked about her current favourite hairstyle, from her description...I think it's something like this? She liked those 2 ponytails hairstyle not long ago but after noticing quite a number of members are using that hairstyle too, Reina stopped doing them because she doesn't want to have the same hairstyle as another member.

During the 11 minute 11 second of the show, the staff played the Happy Birthday song and brought a cake into the booth for Reina.

Reina blew out the candles after the song. It was a chocolate cake with a candle stuck on it. Even though Reina knows when to expect such surprises, she didn't expect this birthday surprise (Probably because this show is pre-recorded. So on the day of the recording, it wasn't Reina's birthday) Reina didn't know how to round up so she moved on to the e'mail address immediately, lol.

Something that's bothering Reina recently...when she goes to someone else's house, after taking off her shoes and entering the house, she has no idea if she is suppose to close the door or leave it open. By mannerism, she thinks that she should close it but she may appear to be rude if she goes around touching the owner's keys. For now, Reina is the type who will just close it and enter the house with an "Excuse me." However, she has friends who has some sort of funny looking keys with buttons which Reina doesn't know how to use. For such cases, she'll just tell her friend that she didn't close the door so that her friend will do it. Reina realised keys are becoming more advanced just like mobile phones. Reina won't be surprised if one says that she has no manners because she seriously has no idea about mannerism. She asked for listeners to send in mails to teach her about them xD With that, Reina gave five stars for her soon-to-be-embarked on journey to good manners.

Reina initially wondered why this song uses Osaka dialect and not Fukuoka's (Hakata dialect). She later explained to herself that not everyone from Morning Musume is from Fukuoka so she shouldn't be thinking that way. Still, she wants a Fukuoka Koi no Uta but nowadays, she's in love with the Osaka dialect. She finds the common Kansai dialects like the popular tsukkomi, "Nande Yanen!" cute. Her favourite is "Nanyuuto yo" (What are you saying?) The link is that...Kansai dialect and Osaka dialect are pretty similar.

The show started off with Reina sharing a horror story with the listeners. There was this man, who saw his new neighbour moving in. The new neighbour was a beautiful-looking lady who had her shades on. He often looked over to the lady's apartment hoping to catch a glimpse of her. One day, he decided to try see if he was about to listen to the noise in the neighbour's house. However, it was silent. He tried again the next day thinking that the lady might be at home the next day but still, there wasn't any noise. The man later found a small hole on his wall that connects to his neighbour's so he peeked through it. All he saw was pure red so he thought "Wow, this house is awesome." After scanning around, he realised the lady wasn't at home. He tried again the next day and it was still red. Curious, he talked to the landlord about how strange it was that the lady was never at home and there wasn't any noise. The landlord then replied..."The lady next door...has red eyes."

Reina thought it was the room that was red at first. She found this story really scary so she shared it with Eri on purpose. Eri didn't want to listen to it but after Reina assured her it was a fictional story, she accepted it and got very frightened by it. Reina's conclusion, "Operation was successful!"

It wasn't easy for the Japanese members to remember the lyrics of "Ame no furanai hoshi dewa aisenai darou?" Chinese version. Reina's strategy in memorising them is to substitute in Japanese words that have similar pronunciations. She sang out these 2 lines on the radio show when giving examples, 「一直相亲相爱吧」 yi zhi xiang qin xiang ai ba, 「把珍贵的一切交给未来」ba zhen gui de yi qie jiao ge wei lai.

Reina likes cavalry battles. She prefers to be the one on top instead of the one who has to carry the team member. Thanks to her small frame, Reina was always the one on the top, grabbing the targets when she was in elementary school participating in cavalry battles. Once, when her team was heading to grab a target, Reina's target was taken down by another team and it was a big shock to Reina.

Reina's character is changing. In the past, she belonged to the group who bullies other members but now, she is the one getting bullied. Aichan, Gaki-san, Eri and Sayu are responsible for bullying the little kitty. Reina doesn't dislike being bullied neither does she dislike bullying people. In case anyone gets the wrong idea, the bullying we talking about isn't real physical/mental bullying. It is just friendly remarks that straight-forward/aimed at a particular person which are usually made for laughs.

Recently, Reina went to the karaoke for 8 hours. Even after 8 hours, she didn't want to leave but had no choice but to go as it was getting late. She only sang 56 songs although she wants to try singing 100 songs in a row. After 8 hours of singing session, Reina was completely exhausted after that. Still, she enjoyed herself and hopes to have a karaoke tournament during fan club events. As usual, Reina talked about how badly she wants to sing non-Hello! Project songs in front of fans to let them know she is able to sing those songs too. Whenever Reina runs out of songs to sing in karaoke, she will sing Amine songs.

From this week onwards, FIVE STARS Wednesday will be aired at 24:00 to 24:30. The show started off with Reina fumbling with her words and declaring that she is going to try give adult-like talks to match the midnight atmosphere. Moving on Reina's opening talk, she finds the concert halls for ~Nine smile~ concert tour humid. Although she doesn't sweat often, she is sweating a little during the concerts for this concert tour. Talking about concerts, dust often gets into Reina's eyes when she is performing. On this episode of FIVE STARS Wednesday, Reina gave a hint to all the listeners about a song she will be performing in for the ~Nine smile~ concert tour and the song she was referring to was none other than "Kioku meiro" which is performed by Takahashi Ai and Reina herself for this concert tour.

Since young, Reina prefers bread to rice. When Reina was still schooling, her canteen only offers white bread everyday so it was like "Ah, this again." However, the canteen sometimes offers bread with chocolate spread, bread with margarine and bread with strawberry jam. Even though it is just jam, Reina will be very happy as it is certainly better than eating the same thing everyday. There is also a dish called chirikonkan that has a tomato taste to it and has beans in it. Fukuoka's chirikonkan has only soy beans in the dish while Tokyo's chirikonkan has a variety of beans added into the dish.

FIVE STARS Wednesday with Tanaka Reina as host has been running for 2 full years and is now onto its 3rd year. Reina hopes to share more stories of herself and Morning Musume with all the listeners and let everyone know more about her.

Once, when a senior told Koharu that she was not in sync with the rest of the members during a lesson, Koharu replied with a "That's because I'm me." When Reina heard about it, she thought Koharu was being really courageous to do that and she found it funny. Though so, if Koharu had told her that, she would definitely be pissed off by her. As Koharu has a high-pitched voice and speaks loudly, she is often told by their teacher to lower her voice during concert MC segments. Still, Koharu will say that she is this way and she wants to go on being this way. Reina is pretty confident Koharu will do well alone after she graduates from Morning Musume since she is one energetic girl and is popular among young children. She hopes that Koharu will continue to try her very best.

Reina now wants a dark-pink cover that suits her taste for her bed very badly. The designs that she likes are usually available for single-bed bed covers only. Reina once talked about wanting a double-bed so she changed from a single-bed to a double-bed but now, because she can't find a nice cover, she wants to switch back to using a single-bed. Not just for this reason though. Being a fickle person, Reina has gotten sick of the big bed which takes up lots of space in her room. As Reina's mother doesn't allow her to get another bed, Reina is now hunting for suitable dark-pink cover with heart-shape or butterfly designs for her bed. She asked for listeners who happen to see such a cover to mail the details of the store to the radio show. When Reina was at Donki Houte looking her bed sheet, she found a dark pink heart-shape curtain and bought it. Unfortunately, it isn't big enough. Anyway, with that, Reina gave 5 stars to the dark-cover bed sheet which she is currently looking for. Yes, she is giving it 5 stars although she has yet to find it ^^;

Not long ago, Reina had an interesting dream. However, she can't remember the details of the dream and only has a rough idea of what happened. According to Reina, she had an argument with Gaki-san and pushed Gaki-san down in the dream after losing her cool. Reina does not quarrel with Gaki-san but she wonders if this is a sign from god that she will get into an argument with Gaki-san soon.

Morning Musume - Aki Urara ♪

Reina played with temochi hanabi this summer, after not playing with them for a long time. They weren't exactly temochi hanabi though...it was the kind of sparklers whereby you can leave them on the ground, lit it and the sparkles will shoot out by itself. Although Reina didn't go to any festivals this summer, she had fun playing with fireworks and watching a horror film with her friends.

Reina : Aichan is cute recently. If I'm asked what of her...frankly, its her face.
Lol'd at the way Reina said it. So anyway, she thinks that Aichan's face is becoming more like the present (Up to date?) nowadays. Another thing about Aichan is that she is a very serious person. Its really a good thing but Reina can't stand things being too serious. Still, she understands that Aichan is doing this for the group's sake and playing her role as a leader.

As there are not much restrictions when hosting this radio show, Reina is able to show her real side here to all the listeners. This is one of her happiest moment in hosting "FIVE STARS Wednesday". As for things that she is struggling with...is when she tries to move on to the next topic. Instead of a nice round-up, Reina will usually just say "Okay, moving on." She wants to be able to conclude things properly so that the radio show will sound smoother instead of having sudden change-of-topics. Another challenge is when she has nothing funny to say. Being alone, she can only rely on herself.

Some time ago, Reina had a Takoyaki party with her friends. If it was just a simple normal takoyaki party, it wouldn't be interesting in any way so they decided to buy some special fillings and sauces to put in and on their takoyaki. A few examples of their special ingredient are : Tabasco, nattou, chocolate caramel. After the party started, one of her friends conveniently mixed up the normal takoyaki with those filled with special ingredients xD Hence, they could only eat it to find out which one they had picked. One of the takoyaki Reina tried was chocolate caramel's. She doesn't recommend it after having a war with the caramel that was stubbornly stuck onto her teeth.

Reina returned to Fukuoka twice recently as she was assigned to promote Morning Musume's 40th single, "Nanchatte Renai" in that area. During the promotions, she realised Morning Musume has fans ranging from little children to elderly people. One of the trips was with Aika. When they returned to Tokyo together, there were Aika fans waiting for Aika's arrival just to tell her an "Otsukare" (Good work today). Reina was amazed by how Aika's fans waited for Aika at the airport faithfully without knowing what time the 2 girls will be back.

Morning Musume - Nanchatte Renai ♪

When Reina was staying in Fukuoka, she gets stung by mosquitoes frequently. However, after she had come to Tokyo, she doesn't get stung often. For example, whenever Morning Musume goes outdoors for a photo-shoot/recording, the members will complain about the itchiness after being stung but for Reina, she doesn't get any of those mosquito bites. By chance, on the day of the recording of this episode of FIVE STARS Wednesday, Reina was stung by a mosquito on the hand and the leg.

Normally, when Morning Musume goes to convenience stores before their concerts, Reina will be the one with the least number of items in her basket. She sometimes end up just buying only an item while other members bought 2 full bags of stuff. The problem doesn't exactly lies with Reina though...Some members actually buys 5 packs of drinks at one go...

During the long-distance flight back to Japan from LA, Reina simply slept through it and as for the flight from Japan to LA, she listened to music, played games and had a meal. She couldn't really remember what she did...so she decided that she should note down what she did during the flights the next time they visit another country.

Coming back to the Fukuoka talk, during the other trip, when she went to Fukuoka with Koharu, both of them went to a convenience store which wasn't even near to Reina's home town but by coincidence, Reina bumped into 2 of her male seniors. She wasn't very close to these 2 seniors and was no longer in contact with them ever since she moved to Tokyo. After the left the store and returned to the car, Reina told Koharu they are her seniors and Koharu started waving at the guys. Reina waved at them too~ Apparently, one of the senior is actually around 191cm. Nearly 40cm taller than Reina.

Kudo Shizuka - Kuchibiru Kara Biyaku ♪

The other day when Reina was at the karaoke, she had a sudden urge to sing Kudo Shizuka's songs so she sang around 4 of her songs. "Kuchibiru kara Biyaku" was one of them and after singing it, she wanted to sing it in front of the fans. If you ask why, its because she likes the "ii yo ii yo ii yo" part of the song which is pretty cute.

Recently, Reina went to the game centre with her family. Including her dad. Her parents started off with playing the slot machine. At first, Reina was just standing by their side watching them play. As she watched on, she felt like playing too so she tried playing it. She couldn't win the game as she didn't have the feel of the game but after a few more tries, she gradually knew how to look at the slots even as they spin. She successfully won a jackpot. Unfortunately it was only a game machine and not those gambling slot machines. This incident somewhat triggered Reina to want to play real slot machines after she turns 20. At the same time, this can be her answer if anyone asks her what she wants to do after she turns 20. Reina is pretty sure someone will ask her such a question.

As for Reina's granny, she loves to play the machine where she can win sweets. Since quite some time ago, whenever Reina returns to Fukuoka and they go to a game centre together, her granny will spend lots of money on that machine and win lots of sweets home. Once, Reina had some time to herself so she thought she would play the machine just for fun and surprisingly, she won herself a big packet of potato chips. After this incident, Reina concluded that its best to play the machines just for the fun of it.

With that, Reina gave 5 stars to the slot machines.

August has been a rather eventful month for Reina with all those "Nanchatte Renai" promotions and handshake events. One of the radio show for the promotion titled "Morning Musume Nanchatte RADIO" was hosted by the 6th generation. After the radio show, they had a handshake event with the fans. The last time the 6th generation members were involved in a handshake event together without other members was not long after they entered Morning Musume. Having such an event together with Eri and Sayu again brought back the old memories to Reina. After the event, as they were chatting about it, they felt really lucky to be in the 6th generation. Although they don't get many opportunities to work together, the 3 of them work well together because they are all free-willed people and since they are of the same generation, they don't have to hold back themselves when talking to one another. A new unit for the 6th generation will be a great idea since they have been discussing about it for sometime now. However, if that ever happens, there won't be anyone there to lead/organise the unit because of their individual personalities. Coming back to the handshake event, because the event was held outdoors, when thanking and chatting with the fans, Reina had to raise her voice to make herself heard. It was also partly because of her high tension that day that caused her to be speaking so loudly but anyway, she got a sore throat the next day. Still, she had enjoyed herself and is looking forward to more events with the other 2 Rokkies.

Morning Musume - Aki Urara ♪

Reina has a dream to perform with a microphone decorated by her with glittering decorations and to wear earphones that are decorated by herself. One example of what she will do is to put "R" and "T" on each of the earphones as part of the design. Another thing she will want to do on a concert stage is to surprise the audience by appearing at a completely unexpected spot. Her idea was for a shadow to be projected on the stage to mislead the audience before she appears. She knows it is not possible for the time being because they can't possibly make all 9 members do that.

Not long ago, Reina went back to Fukuoka with Koharu for "Nanchatte Renai" promotions. Koharu mentioned on 2 of the radio shows that they ate the black mont blanc. A listener happens to have a same liking for the black mont blanc asked Reina if she had tried the mirukukku ice-cream which is also one of the products of the black mont blanc's company. Reina had heard of it before but had never tried it. She will definitely check it out the next time she returns to Fukuoka though. Reina got pretty excited after describing how the black mont blanc looks like.

During one of the Hello! Chanpuru MCs, Reina talked about pulling a wire out from the back of her body. What happened was that Reina wore an outfit that revealed her back and her mother noticed a black mark on Reina's back. She asked if it was a mole but since its Reina's back, she can't see it herself. Her mother then placed her finger on the spot and it actually hurt. At first, Reina thought it was because of her mother's fingernail it wasn't so. As they tried to feel the thing, they realised it actually moved each time they pressed it. After around an hour, Reina's mother finally managed to get the thing out of Reina's body. It was thick, hard and slightly longer than 2cm. in length Yup, it was a piece of wire. Reina joked about herself being "The Terminator", lol.

Reina went to watch the Corteo recently. The movements of the acrobats were very graceful and Reina described the overall performance as "magnificent". She wants to watch it again, for around 5 more times. The performance was so enjoyable that Reina thinks that little children who went to watch it would probably be jumping on their beds after being inspired by the performers after the show. In fact, Reina had the urge to do it too, but of course, she didn't. It was not only enjoyable but also exciting because of the dangerous leaps by the acrobats. Watching the performance, Reina realised she shouldn't be complaining about having rehearsals as the performers there are risking their lives there and their rehearsals are definitely tougher. The Corteo's performance requires both physical and mental strength (To concentrate) as the stunts are not easy. Moved by the performance, Reina gave 5 stars to the Corteo and encouraged listeners to watch it at least thrice.

100th episode of Tanaka Reina's FIVE STARS Wednesday! When Reina had first started hosting this radio program, she read out her script monotonously and was not able to talk about a topic for long. Because of her short talks, the staffs have to play around 5 full songs per episode so that the show would be at least 30 minutes. Reina listened to one of the earlier episodes of FIVE STARS Wednesday and was shocked by how bad her radio-hosting skills were. She remembers how badly she wanted to quit at first because she was not able to host the show well but knowing that she should not be running away from a problem, Reina decided to change the way she speaks as well as to be frank with the listeners as she hosts the show. It gradually became enjoyable and Reina is glad that she didn't get discouraged and gave up back then.

Morning Musume - Nanchatte Renai ♪

Continuing with the opening talk, although Reina was speaking in a monotone, the Reina at that time thought that her way of reading the script was already perfected because she had gave her best. Also, she tried to hide her Hakata dialect and host the show in standard Japanese. It wasn't like the Reina people knew at all. Unlike the past Reina, she is now able to share with the listeners stories that may get a "Huh? Is it really okay for her to be talking about that?" reaction.

Not long ago, Reina gave five stars to Gari-gari-kun. She had a catalogue of the products of the company during this episode's recording and she started reading out the names of the ice-pops. One of the ice-pop that she has never tried before is the red wine flavoured ice-pop. It sounded delicious so Reina was thinking of getting one. Once, she bought a mustard flavoured gari-gari-kun ice-pop and gave it to her little brother.

Not long ago, Reina had 2 dreams in a row. In the 1st dream, Reina was rubbing her arm against Linlin's in an extremely fast speed resulting in a fire. Immediately after this dream, the setting changed and she had a 2nd dream. She dreamed of herself oversleeping on the day of a "Nanchatte Renai" performance recording. As she was late, when they were called to prepare themselves to perform, Reina had yet to complete putting on her make-up. She reqeusted for more time and was only given 10 minutes. Being the one who overslept, she knew she should not be complaining so she tried to rush through everything. However, many people kept annoying her, stopping her from putting on her make-up. For example, purposely blocking Reina just to make funny faces at her and calling her non-stop. She was already in a hurry so she told them to stop it but they wouldn't listen to her. Eventually, she could not tolerate it any more and screamed with all her might. After her scream, she couldn't breathe and fainted. After 2 strange dreams in a row, Reina thought it was some sort of warning from god. Amazed by how dreams are beyond one's imagination, Reina gave 5 stars to dreams.

Some time ago, Aichan bought some sweets for all the members. As Reina had some assignments to complete first, she told Aichan to pass her a particular type of sweet which she loves later on when she is free. After she had completed her tasks and returned to the dressing room, Aichan told her to hurry over to grab her sweets before Junjun eats them all. However, when Reina was looking for the sweets, Junjun told her they had already finished the sweets. There was nothing much Reina could do about that so she returned to her seat but when she looked over at Junjun, she saw her holding onto something in her palm. Reina realised that it was the sweet that she had wanted to eat. Its not that Reina is being petty over a few sweets, but because, just recently, Junjun and her are becoming pretty close and Reina is starting to trust Junjun. This incident was a shock to Reina.

Although Reina has not been talking about Yakiniku and chocolate nowadays, it does not mean that they are no longer her favourite foods. They are still #1 when it comes to her favourite foods. On this episode of FIVE STARS Wednesday, Reina had expressed her love for beans but now, she no longer likes it. This is not the only food that was a short-term boom though. There was once a squid boom in Morning Musume but it ended shortly after a week.

Reina likes the "Ah nande nandarou watashi, sunao ni amaerarenai, okaasan ni denwa ga shitai ah" lyrics in "Nanchatte Renai". At first, she didn't like the idea of having a "okaasan ni denwa ga shitai" (I want to call mother) as she didn't understand why its there but during her trip to LA, Reina felt a little homesick and wanted to call her mother, she then understood the lyrics. As for the dance moves, Reina personally thinks she is the best in Morning Musume when it comes to the dance move where they will all hold on to their skirts and kind of like, move their hands forward and backwards.

There isn't any junior that can make Reina feel "Ah, its good to have this junior." Reina, who always does things as she likes, when she is with her seniors like Aichan and Gaki-san, the 2 will follow-up with whatever she says (Like helping her to edit her words so that it don't sound harsh and such) but if she were with her juniors, the juniors will not do so. Since they are of no use to her, they are more like a burden.

As Morning Musume is a pretty big group, whenever they prepare for a certain event, they are split into 2 groups. The group that needs to turn up earlier for their make-up will usually be the juniors. However, for Reina's case, she is sometimes arranged to be in the early group and sometimes in the later group because she is the 5th member down the chart in terms of age and seniority (Morning Musume has 9 members, so she's right in the middle)

Not long ago, Reina, together with her mom and little brother, they went to Donki Houte and suddenly, her brother had a craving for peanuts. Hence, they bought 500 grams of it. Although it was her brother that had wanted to eat the peanuts, when they got home, Reina wanted to eat it too, so she sat down with the trash can placed in front of her and started attacking the peanuts. Her brother joined in, sitting next to her, tossing the peanut shells into the same trash can too after some time. Her mom too, later joined in the peanut meal. With the 3 of them sitting together, enjoying the peanuts as they watched a variety show, laughing together, Reina felt a small happiness suddenly. Ever since Reina had joined Morning Musume, she does not get much opportunities to sit down for a meal together with her family or to even spend time together with them so she treasures these little moments of her and her family. As for Reina's dad, who is living alone in Fukuoka alone, whenever they return to Fukuoka, they will have a reunion meal.

Reina saw on a TV show that nattous are nice when mixed with butter. She tried it out. However, she threw in too much of butter and the whole dish stank of butter. She then added in some yukari and salt which resulted in a disaster.

Reina sings Rebecca's "Friends" often whenever she goes to the karaoke. She will like to sing Amuro Namie's "Body Feels Exit", Kudo Shizuka's "Mugon Iroppoi" and "Blue Rose" in concerts.

Surprisingly, when Reina was in elementary school, she would do her all her summer vacation assignments the moment she was given them instead of completing them at the very last minute. She would complete them even before the summer vacation starts and go around boasting about it.

Right after this episode of FIVE STARS Wednesday was aired, the fans did a good job in their clapping the next concert for Reina's "Heya to Y Shatsu to Watashi" solo performance. She had completely forgotten about talking about it on FIVE STARS so on the day itself, she was surprised by how the fans were clapping in-sync and at the correct timing. She could feel the unity of the fans and was moved.

Reina and Junjun went to Shibuya for a meal recently. Junjun is the kind who will want to eat a big variety of food when she browses through the menu. They ended up ordering some avocado dishes, tuna salad, tantan-men, onion rings, goya chanpuru and honey toast in a karaoke. No matter how you look at it, it just seems as though there is too many dishes for 2 girls to finish them all at once. Reina doubted that they would be able to finish all of them but it wasn't so for Junjun. Junjun confidently assured Reina that they would clear all of it. The half-convinced Reina sampled all the dishes before she started her mini concert in the karaoke room while Junjun sat there eating and watching Reina sing. As she was enjoying herself, Reina looked over to Junjun's side and realised that Junjun had ate everything. She was amazed by how Junjun does not leave any leftovers after a meal. Both of them had promised to go for another meal of avocado and vegetables and Reina is already excited about the trip because together with Junjun, she gets to try out different dishes without having to worry about not being able to finish everything.

After the meal, they still had some time left so they went shopping. When they were in a store that sells accessories, a pair of heart-shaped earrings caught Reina's eyes and she could not decide whether to buy it or not. She consulted Junjun about it and they concluded that she should not get that pair of earrings. After making their purchases and they left the store, Junjun gave Reina a bag (Shopping bag) and it was actually the earrings that Reina wanted. She was surprised and touched at the same time. As a way to repay her kindness, Reina got Junjun some nice nuts since Junjun is crazy over nuts now adays.

With that, Reina gave five stars to Junjun!

Just the other day, during the summer concert, there was an ice shaver at the catering area. Taking advantage of it, Reina made herself some shaved ice. Although there were strawberry, green tea and mango syrup available, there were some members who used only condensed milk for their shaved ices. The next day, since they were still holding the summer concert in the same hall, Reina was looking forward to eating more shaved ice but unfortunately, there was a daily special system going on and that day's special was bracken starch dumpling. There were also bottles of ramune in the cool box, creating a festival atmosphere. Reina feels like going to festivals this summer but normally, even if she has an off on the day of the festival, the thought of the heat stops her from leaving her house.

Among "Naichau Kamo", "Shouganai Yume Oibito" and "Nanchatte Renai", Reina likes "Nanchatte Renai" the most. When she had first listened to the song, she couldn't wait to try singing it. At first, Reina didn't like the part that goes "Aa nande nan darou watashi, yuugata ni naru tabi" because it was similar to a tongue twister and she was not too confident of singing the lines out smoothly. However, after listening to the song a few more times, that part became her favourite part.

Reina does not feel excited about turning 20 in a few months time. In fact, she doesn't want to turn 20. She has this impression that after one turns 20, time will start flying very quickly. She doubts she'll attend a coming-of-age celebration but she wants to dress up in a kimono, with her hair tied up neatly on her head, with a feather attached to it and take a picture of it.

Reina is currently crazy over gari-gari-kun and avocado. The day before the recording, Reina had avocado to go along with her bentou. Again, before the recording, she had avocado. All the while, Reina thought that avocado is a type of vegetable only until the day of recording, where Reina had a discussion with Aika and Junjun on whether avocado is a vegetable or a fruit, Junjun and Reina's opinions clashed (Junjun knew its a fruit) and they went researching about it on the internet, Reina then got to know that avocado is actually a type of fruit. Coming back, Reina has never tried it out, but she was told that she just have to mix avocados, onions and tuna to make "avocado dip".

As its becoming very humid nowadays, whenever Reina eats gari-gari-kun (Ice pops) and sherbets, it will make her feel refreshed and improve her mood. Reina discovered a chocolate flavoured gari-gari-kun ice pop the day before and recommended the listeners to try it out if they happen to see it.

Reina is interested in good ways to eat avocados and nattous so if you have a way of eating them, do send it in to five-reina@interfm.jp. With that, Reina gave five stars to avocados and gari-gari-kun.

Although they don't get much spotlight during Hello! Project concerts as there are many of them performing, Reina enjoyed herself during the rehearsals. During the rehearsals, it was the first time Reina watched Berryz Koubou's "Seishun Bus Guide" performance. Its one of her favourite songs in karaokes. In this summer's Hello! Project concert, Reina has a solo performance of "Heya to Y shirts to Watashi". On the first day of the concert, during her performance, the whole concert hall was in total silence which made her heart throbbed. After the first concert, the fans learned to clap along to the song which made Reina really happy but...the fans' claps are a little out of beat and that causes Reina to mess up her rhythm. She is glad that the fans are clapping along to the song, but she will appreciate it if the fans can improve their clapping. And to help the fans...she held a "clapping lesson".

Also, in this summer concert, High King was revived. The self-proclaimed High King's leader, Tanaka Reina has been appointed as the leader of High King by Tsunku so its official! Reina hopes for the group to have more releases together and to make appearances on TV shows, giving her opportunities to say "I'm High King's leader." instead of "I'm High King's self-proclaimed leader."

Reina doesn't like nattou but she does have the urge to eat it at times. During the summer concert, she gave it a try by mixing them with mayonnaise. She was told it didn't sound appetising by the rest of the members but when she tried it, it was pretty nice, something that she can eat. Not too much though, just a few bites will make her sick of it because of the smell of the nattou. She encourages people who hates the smell of nattou to try mixing them too as the mayonnaise helps a little in killing the smell of the nattou. Taking advantage of the fact that the members will help her finish her leftover nattous, she challenges herself to eat nattous when she is with them.

During Hello! Project concerts, since Reina loves ribbons and they are cute, she uses them for her hair decorations but she noticed that Berryz Koubou's members don't usually put on ribbons. When she asked them about it, she was told that they want to be viewed as adult-like so they use flowers more frequently than ribbons.

Not long ago, Reina went to Shibuya after not visiting it for some time. She went there in the morning on a weekday with the thought that there will be lesser people around but when she arrived at Shibuya, it was very crowded as there was a sale going on. Since she was already there, all she could do was to avoid the shoppers there and do her own shopping. Coming back to the sale, she was really happy since everything was so damn cheap, for instance, a store that sells their shirts at the price of 8000yen per piece had lowered the price to 5000yen for 2 pieces. At that particular shop, Reina had a short conversation with the shop assistant. After Reina asked her about the sale, she told Reina, "Don't you look at Tanaka Reina-chan?" At that very moment, Reina had no idea what sort of answer she should give so she just admitted that she is Tanaka Reina but now, thinking back, she thinks that she should have replied, "Yes, I often get told I look like her!" After shopping, as usual, Reina went Karaoke-ing. With that, Reina gave five stars to that satisfactory holiday she had.

On the day Morning Musume had returned to Japan from LA, Reina dreamed of her and the rest of the members shopping in LA. The boutique she visited was having a great sale resulting in Reina being torn between which to buy and which not to. Since she didn't have much time to decide, she just bought them all. Just minutes before she had to stop, she noticed a vest with a leopard design and a hood behind, with a cute pink little ribbon attached to the hood. The end of Reina's dream ^^;

Morning Musume - Nanchatte Renai ♪

Reina was asked if she were to stop calling herself "Reina" when talking, what will she address herself as. She replied that it'll probably be "Watashi" since addressing herself as "Reina-chan" sounds gross. But anyway, she has no plans on changing the way she speaks, she is just going to stick with Reina.

Reina didn't do much for the star festival this year other than sending a mail to a friend who was celebrating her birthday on star festival. She does not have any wish that she wants to be granted which she considered it as a good thing. She had made wishes on star festivals in the past though, for example, to grow taller.

When she was younger, Reina drinks sherbets and eats pokipoki-ices (She likes grape-flavoured ones and the white ones which she has no idea what flavour it is) during Summer to cool herself down. However, after she had moved to Tokyo, she does not get a chance to be outdoors often so the heat does not affect her. As for Reina's mama, she will place some sort of cool packs or something on her neck

Reina has been listening to Goto's "3rd Station" album recently and was wondering about what she should do if she were to be the main character of Station.

Unlike usual PV recordings, Nanchatte Renai's PV recording session started off with the dance shot instead of the close-up shots. According to their dance teacher, the dance move during the "Nanchatte ♪" was arranged in a way so that it will be easy for everyone to follow. A challenge that Reina faced while learning the choreography was adjusting to moves that requires them to move their left legs first. As their usual dance moves will start with the right, Reina had some problems starting from the left. At first when she failed to do it, she convinced herself that it will be okay because there probably won't be anyone who will notice it but of course, the dance teacher saw it and reminded her again to start from the left. After some practices, she is now abe to start off with the left leg like the way she is supposed to.

For the close-up shot, they were told that the theme is female leopard, looking like a little devil wandering around the pillar aimlessly, pinning themselves against the pillar (That's how she described it ^^;) Reina was told by her make-up artist that she looked more like a female cat than a female leopard after she recorded her scenes.

As for the image scenes, the girls each had a cloth put on around their neck like a muffler with the fan blowing at them. All these scenes were taken one by one and Reina, together with Eri were the last 2 to have their scenes recorded. They waited until nighttime for their turn and the nighttime, which was a according to both Reina and Eri, is a good timing, caused the 2 girls to behave strangely, impersonating people to kill time. They played the Zukudan Zunbungun game so many times that Reina had already mastered the steps. The game got the 2 of them to be in high tensions although they may not have shown it on their faces when recording the PV but anyway, it was a really fun recording.

Seems like the girls get excited easily at night. During Shouganai Yume Oibito PV, GAKIKAME's scenes were also recorded at night and both of them too, mentioned that they started to behave strangely because it was nighttime.

Although during the rehearsals for the LA concert, it just felt like any other concert, right before the concert itself, Reina finally felt like "This is LA!" She commented that the difference between LA and Japan was that the males' voices are of higher pitched in LA, going "Wooo~" Other than the concert, Reina was really happy to be able to be in LA, since she has been going on and on about how much she wants to go to LA because the name "LA" itself sounds nice.

Now that its summer, whenever Reina gets home, she'll turn on the air-conditioner since she prefers her house to be cooling rather than humid. However, her family is environmentally concious, hence they will turn it down to only 27-28°C.

A listener sent in a mail with a list of incomprehensible catchphrases for Reina which he had got it from a catchphrase-website. Among the catchphrases, the one that caught Reina's attention was "G-shock Tanaka Reina model" as it was in English.

Continuation of the LA talk! Since it was the first time Reina was traveling on a plane for 10-11 hours, she was really worried about the trip. So worried that she felt sick on the plane. Putting that aside, Reina enjoyed herself shopping in LA. Even though Reina will usually get so many souvenirs for her friends during the Hawaii FC tours that she'll end up bringing home more souvenirs than items that she wanted for herself, this time round, Reina shopped for herself so much that she didn't have much time to get souvenirs. She didn't really get branded goods, just lots of cheap items. The most satisfying item she got for herself was a suitcase that has kissmarks and a Betty-chan as design. It was only 45 dollars but the fact that she'll have to bring 2 suitcases back if she buys it troubled her. Even though so, there was no time or her to be indecisive due to their schedule and since LA isn't a place she goes often, she bought it without a second thought. She got herself some T-shirts, shoes and souvenirs as well during their shopping sessions.
