This week's FIVE STARS Wednesday is actually the #111 episode, on November 11, which is also Reina's 20th birthday! Reina joined Morning Musume when she was 13 so she had spent most of her teens as a member of Morning Musume. As an idol, obviously there are certain things that they are not allowed to do but looking on the bright side, she had enjoyed herself even though the fun was a little different from normal female teenagers'. The 13 years old Reina back then expected the 20 year old her to be a very mature lady...in fact, she thought after turning 20 years old she would probably be like an old lady. However, the current 20 years old Reina doesn't feel as though she has changed. Reina wants to continue taking up new challenges and enjoy herself to the fullest as she moves on.

Morning Musume - Kimagure Princess

Although Reina may appear to be very fashionable, the clothes she wears at home isn't as trendy as what she usually wears. Not that it's those dirty looking shirt or anything, just that the colours of her tops and bottoms don't match.

Reina talked about her current favourite hairstyle, from her description...I think it's something like this? She liked those 2 ponytails hairstyle not long ago but after noticing quite a number of members are using that hairstyle too, Reina stopped doing them because she doesn't want to have the same hairstyle as another member.

During the 11 minute 11 second of the show, the staff played the Happy Birthday song and brought a cake into the booth for Reina.

Reina blew out the candles after the song. It was a chocolate cake with a candle stuck on it. Even though Reina knows when to expect such surprises, she didn't expect this birthday surprise (Probably because this show is pre-recorded. So on the day of the recording, it wasn't Reina's birthday) Reina didn't know how to round up so she moved on to the e'mail address immediately, lol.

Something that's bothering Reina recently...when she goes to someone else's house, after taking off her shoes and entering the house, she has no idea if she is suppose to close the door or leave it open. By mannerism, she thinks that she should close it but she may appear to be rude if she goes around touching the owner's keys. For now, Reina is the type who will just close it and enter the house with an "Excuse me." However, she has friends who has some sort of funny looking keys with buttons which Reina doesn't know how to use. For such cases, she'll just tell her friend that she didn't close the door so that her friend will do it. Reina realised keys are becoming more advanced just like mobile phones. Reina won't be surprised if one says that she has no manners because she seriously has no idea about mannerism. She asked for listeners to send in mails to teach her about them xD With that, Reina gave five stars for her soon-to-be-embarked on journey to good manners.

Morning Musume - Osaka Koi no Uta

Reina initially wondered why this song uses Osaka dialect and not Fukuoka's (Hakata dialect). She later explained to herself that not everyone from Morning Musume is from Fukuoka so she shouldn't be thinking that way. Still, she wants a Fukuoka Koi no Uta but nowadays, she's in love with the Osaka dialect. She finds the common Kansai dialects like the popular tsukkomi, "Nande Yanen!" cute. Her favourite is "Nanyuuto yo" (What are you saying?) The link is that...Kansai dialect and Osaka dialect are pretty similar.

Morning Musume - Kimagure Princess

Eri is the type who takes baths at night while Gaki-san is fine with both morning and night. Gaki-san takes baths twice a day, even during winter. Eri thought it will be rather cold to take baths during winter but Gaki-san, is somehow able to deal with it. That earned Gaki-san a "Woah. This person is great after all," from Eri, lol. Although Eri doesn't take baths in the morning, her dad and brother do. Her dad's excuse for not bathing immediately after getting home from work is that he is tired and will probably fall asleep in the tub. Gaki-san's papa on the other hand will take a bath after work. Eri started going "Papa-san is fantastic ~"

Gaki : Lets move on to the next mail.Your turn, Kame-han.
Kame : Okay ~ Erm, ummmm ~
Gaki : Here, this part.
Kame : I know I know! I'll be fine! I have it. (Rustling sound of papers) (Smug) See, I have it!

I swear, FIVE STARS Monday radio show really isn't random. It's really not!

Eri watched Gaki-san and Reina's appearance on Hamachan ga! and found Gaki-san with the blonde wig cute. Gaki-san really wants to try cutting her hair short if she gets a chance to. They looked back at Eri's past hairstyles, from black long hair (2003) to dark brown long hair (Late 2004) to brown short hair (2005) to black shoulder-length hair (Late 2006) to brown long hair (Late 2007) and finally, to brown shoulder-length hair (Mid 2009). Eri likes her current hairstyle the most out of her past hairstyles. Gaki-san said Eri looks like a doll with this hairstyle. Eri is thinking of growing long hair again though.

Every time they record FIVE STARS Monday, both of them are seated in the same seats, with both of them facing one another and Gaki-san being further away from the door. They have no idea why too but it was arranged this way ever since they stepped into the studio for the first time. Gaki-san at first thought it was because her seat was positioned at the angle whereby she could see the director who gives them the cue while Eri's can't. Eri disagreed immediately saying that she could see the director clearly, even though the director doesn't give her cues often, lol. She added on that she may not be given the cues, but she is paying attention to the ongoings of the show. To prove that, she complimented the director for giving good cues xD As they continued their discussion on why they are seated this way, Eri said that she can escape from the room faster than Gaki-san, throwing Gaki-san behind. Coming back, they don't fight for the seats. It's the staffs who prepare the seats for them so they just sit accordingly to where their orange juice (Eri's drink) and oolong tea (Gaki-san's drink) are placed.

Berryz Kobou - Watashi no Mirai no Danna-sama

Eri bought herself an iPod touch some time ago. She chose one of those with the biggest screens because she wanted to watch videos with it. Carrying a DVD player around is a little troublesome considering that it's pretty heavy. Even though the screen of the iPod touch isn't as big as her DVD player's, the graphics are relatively good and recently, Eri has finally learned how to transfer videos into her gadget. Nowadays she gets to watch her videos of her favourite singers as she travels. According to Gaki-san, for Eri to use an iPod touch is something different from the image Eri gives to them because Eri tends to stick to using one item for long. Like Eri has explained in this episode, she was the first Morning Musume member to own an iPod. However, Apple kept producing even better players every now and then and before Eri even realised, her iPod was already the most old fashioned out of the group. Now, she's the only member in Morning Musume who owns an iPod touch. She got a red cover for her iPod touch recently and people mistook it for a new iPod touch. Eri wants to grow up together with her Kamei-touch ^^; (She renamed it out of blue) With that, Eri gave five stars to iPod touch!

Yes! Just nice! Posted within 24 hours after the show was broadcasted :P Anyway, they have been playing full songs recently so the talks are getting shorter and shorter. Also, do pay attention to Gaki-san's fluffing of lines. Eri didn't pick on them, but she had a couple of slip-ups here and there.

The three hosts started the show with short introductions of themselves and Eri introduced herself as the one "in-charge of healing" in Morning Musume. Eri was a little worried but Junjun assured her they would do fine since they have Aika with them, who Eri calls "the smartest member in Morning Musume."

Morning Musume - Nanchatte Renai

As the girls did the title call, they were a little out of sync. Junjun reasoned that because she isn't fluent in Japanese yet. Moving on to the talks. Junjun claimed that she is thankful towards everything everyday. She gave examples like when she gets home and opens the door with her door keys, she'll feel grateful towards the inventor of keys. She mispronounced the word grateful here and was teased a little for it. Another example is when she takes a bath. She uses bath salts and therefore, feels grateful towards the inventor of bath salts.

A listener requested for the three girls to suggest names for his rabbit. He named his rabbit "Sayu" at first but the rabbit didn't get used to it so he changed it to PokePoo (Short form of PokePokePoo, Eri's nickname) However, his sister told him the name sounds like a fool so here he is, looking for a new name for his rabbit. Aika and Junjun were laughing at the listener's sister's comment. Eri had to double check with Aika if his sister was talking about Eri or the name itself, lol. Aika suggested several cute names such as "Candy-chan" and "Peach." Junjun tried to think up of some too.

Junjun : How about "GuruGuru?"
Aika : Oi ~ Where are you going ~
Junjun : "Guru-chan!" Guru sounds cute doesn't it!
Eri : (Ignores Junjun) What should we choose, Mitsui?
Aika : (Ignores Junjun) Hm...what will be good?

Aika : That's a long name.

Junjun insisted for the name to include the word "kuru." (I don't know why, but from some point of time it was changed from "Guru" to "Kuru") After discussion between Eri and Aika (only), they decided on "Mikuru."

Again, their title call wasn't in sync because Junjun started reading it out too early. Just like last week, the three girls this week are going to make their own linkages between the nine members in Morning Musume. No ugly maps this week because someone criticised me for the one I did last week *Glares* Starting off with Aika's linkages.

FYI, it has been mentioned over and over again that Aichan and Eri shares the same taste when it comes to fashion. Not long ago, when Aichan was on a fashion magazine, she talked about going out to shop for clothes with Eri frequently because they have similar fashion senses. As for Eri's linkage with Gaki-san, she said that she can feel the affection Gaki-san always showers her with. Moving on to the linkage between Eri and Aika, Aika tried to get Eri to change it to "big sister" but she refused. Eri and Junjun started to tease Aika playfully for that old lady matter. By the way, they often call Aika old lady because sometimes Aika's voice seriously makes her sound like one. Now for the rivalry between Eri and Linlin. Both of them crack cold jokes often but Linlin's cold jokes are becoming really funny nowadays and Eri is starting to panic. Last linkage,

Eri : As for Junjun from my point of view, she is difficult to understand.

Junjun : She is the type who can make me feel secured when she is next to me. I think other people may not understand what I mean but when I'm feeling down and stuff like that, Kamei-san seems to understand me very well.

Junjun : I think that she doesn't understand me in reality though...but she handles the problem as though she understands me.
Eri : You mean it's a pretence?
Junjun : So it's like, even if other people doesn't understand me, as long as Kamei-san is with me, I'll feel secured, because she's here.

Eri : That's kind of annoying.

Junjun loves Sayu. In fact, Sayu was the first senior to ask Junjun out and made her open up to other members but because of the recent talk of the two of them looking too similar to one another, Junjun is having headaches thinking of what to wear, what hairdos to make and such everyday. Aika did another attack there about Junjun despite thinking so hard, she is still doing up ponytails. Eri stopped Aika quickly and they moved on to the next linkage. Last week too, the three girls who hosted the show discussed about Sayu and Junjun looking alike.

When Junjun was informed of Koharu's graduation, she cried.

Junjun : I cried. Why did I cry?
Aika : How do I know?

From there, Junjun concluded that the MC segments with Koharu has strengthened their bonds. FYI, Junjun and Koharu don't talk much out of work nor hang out together.

Morning Musume - Naichau Kamo

Promotion for Morning Musume's 41st single, Kimagure Princess. Junjun gave Eri out when she praised her for being able to remember the promotion script, lol. FYI, for every single, there's a particular speech whereby it's repeated over and over again in their promotions for the single. It's just a sentence or two that rounds up and gives readers, listeners or viewers a brief idea of what the song is like and about. Not too sure who thought up of them, but the one who thought up of the speech for Shoganai Yume Oibito was Gaki-san. As Eri was about to round up the promotion corner, she asked the other two girls if they had anything to add on.

Eri : Do you guys have anything to add on? Like were there any parts in the promotion video where Eri was great?
Junjun : Nope.
Eri : ...No? I see.
Aika : I have some!
Eri : Look! She said she has some! Go ahead! Say it!

Aika didn't talk about Kimagure Princess's promotion video though. She talked about Eri's funny movements in 3,2,1 BREAKIN'OUT. When they were recording those parts where the members were allowed to do whatever they want, Aika could hear the staff who were filming Eri's parts laughing loudly from far. Unfortunately, some of it weren't included in the promotion video.

Morning Musume - Kimagure Princess

Image corners! Around a month ago, listeners were asked to send in their impressions of the girls together with exact numbers.

1. Koharu vs Junjun arguments, all added up together = 200 hours
2. Eri takes 12 minutes to decide on what to eat in a restaurant
3. Aika smiles for 17 hours. She smiles all the while unless she is asleep
4. Eri's sleep duration = 24 hours.
5. Number of bananas Junjun eats a day = 100

Aika didn't know if the listener was trying to say Eri is slow at deciding or fast when he said 12 minutes. Junjun later added on to it saying that the numbers should be swapped and be 21 minutes because she doubts Eri is that fast when it comes to making decisions. Eri on the other hand was wondering why it was 12 minutes and not 10 minutes.

Both Eri and Junjun doesn't agree with Aika smiling for 17 hours though. She may have a cute smile, but Aika doesn't smile much. Aika asked them to stop because it'll shatter the listener's image of her.

Eri was probably reading the katakana one by one so she ended up missing the "ur" in "Tour" and was teased a little for it.

Eri : Next week's show will be hosted by Niigaki Risa-chan, Michishige Sayumi-chan and Kusumi Koharu-chan. Wow, these three girls have very strong personalities don't they?
Aika : Yeah.
Junjun : Yeah.
Eri : Looks like it'll be fun so please look forward to it!

Unlike what the three hosts predicted last week, Eri was doing most of the hosting and leading job for this episode. Pretty surprising considering that we all thought Eri would be relying on Aika to lead the show. Was a very fun show though, with those teasing between the three girls.

A write-up for today's concerts! Starting off with the consultation corner. For the afternoon concert, Junjun talked about not being able to make more Japanese friends. Eri's advice to that?

Eri : From what I've lived through until now, I've learned that when it comes to friends, it is quality over quantity.
Fans : Oh!
Eri : Junjun, you have good quality friends like Kamei Eri around you!
Fans : Eh!
Eri : Woah, you guys are smiling ~
Junjun : I think that quality is more important too so I'm glad to have friends like Kamei-san.
Eri : We have something similar in that area then.
Gaki-san : ...She says.

For the evening concert, the topic was about standing in trains. To Eri, standing on trains is like battling with oneself. She has to fight against herself and makes sure she stands stably when the train shakes a little too much. What a way to describe her experiences with trains ^^;

Talking about trains, during the Sayu-Reina MC yesterday, when Sayu was on a train, there were these 2 guys who kept looking at her. At first she thought they recognised her as Michishige Sayumi but later, she overheard them saying "Isn't that Suzannu?" but they later concluded that Sayu was just a normal passenger because they concluded that Suzannu isn't the type to take public trains (Suzannu is very popular and possibly rich)

By the way, this is Suzannu.

Now for our soon-to-be 20 adult (?) Reina! Just like the concerts in Shizuoka, they sang a birthday song together but this time, it's for Reina. The encores were changed to Reina-calls and the whole hall was filled with blue light sticks. There was a double encore for the evening concert where Reina came out after the second Reina-call. Did you know...Reina actually likes injections? Okay that was random, anyway, during the double encore...

Reina : There is something I want to say. This is probably the last time I'll meet everyone as a 19-year-old Reina. Even though so, please stop with those "Because she's turning 20, I'm going to stop supporting her" thoughts. I'm serious. It's only from 19 to 20. Please don't say things like you only want to support those in their teens. I'm serious! If I can, I don't want to turn 20 but since I can't stop it, I'll accept it.

Lol, Reina worries too much. She hopes that (Turning 20) all this is a dream. Sayu and Gaki-san then insisted for her to accept reality.

Coming to fan services, Sayu hugged Aichan during Aruiteru and kissed Aika during the coupling song medley. Also! During the evening concert, the last MC, Junjun used her usual line of asking the fans to dry themselves before going home (So as to not catch a cold) but this time round, she added in a "It's a promise!" After that, Eri teasingly imitated Junjun and went "It's a promise!" Koharu followed up to it and said "It's a promise!" too. What made it even funnier was when the 2 Gokkies played along and added in "It's a promise!" into their last MCs too xD

For Sayu's 20th birthday, Gaki-san gave her a lounge-wear...but just some time before that, she got herself a similar one. The main thing of Gaki-san's present that moved Sayu was the handmade album. Gaki-san took the time to put in the Gaki-Sayu pictures and even in those pictures without both of them, she'll just cut out Sayu from another picture and paste it on the other. Inside the album, she wrote things like "Thank you for everything" and "Continue to work hard." If we think about it in the normal way, the last page of the album should be something Gaki-Sayu related since it's Gaki-san's present to Sayu, but the last page was a SayuEri picture. Gaki-san wrote below the picture, "Eri thinks for you more than you think she does." Sayu was touched by the handmade album and could feel the love Gaki-san showers her with.

FRIDAY GOES ON (091106)

Like Eri has mentioned, she watches other singers' concert DVDs. She tries to imagine herself as them and enjoys doing that. She loves how the singers have the intensity in their dances. She admires BoA, Matsuura Aya and more. FYI, not long ago in an interview, Eri said that she observes the other artistes' dances from watching their DVDs and improves her dance ability from there.

One of Eri's lines in Kimagure Princess, "Cho ii ero namida," for the "ro" in "ero," she has to roll the r. However, it initially wasn't this way. It was during the recording for the song, after Eri rolled her r by accident while singing, they decided to edit that line.

Eri wants to try living alone. The male host turned down that idea immediately and told her she is still too young for that. Eri insisted that 20 years of experience is enough. Recently, Eri tidied up her messy room. This is probably the 2nd time in history? :P
